Filson Supports the American Economy

“For more than a century, Filson has fashioned a reputation as the leading manufacturer, distributor and retailer of premium, rugged outdoor apparel and accessories,” said Mark Bloome, Founder of TAP America. Filson has made the commitment to keep at least 70% of its manufacturing in the Seattle area, supporting their local and national economy.”

C.C. Filson Co., a privately held, Seattle-based company, has provided customers premium outdoor apparel, luggage and accessories for more than a century. The company operates its flagship retail store and factory in Seattle, and generates a substantial portion of its business through its direct-to-consumer operations.

“We are delighted to receive recognition by TAP America,” said Mark Korros, president and CEO of Filson. “Our motto for 115 years has been ‘Might as Well Have the Best.’ By manufacturing many of our own products, we can insure that we deliver on this promise and promote jobs for American workers. There are some products that we cannot make or source domestically to deliver the price/value relationship that Filson stands for. We stand behind these products just the same, but we will continue to explore all opportunities to increase sourcing and manufacture of products domestically. We are proud to support our economy by keeping jobs in the United States as one of the largest apparel industry employers in the Pacific Northwest.”

TAP America recently announced their TAP Certified Merchant program to encourage stores to stock at least 20% of U.S. goods and to increase their American-made inventories by just 1% per month. As incentive, businesses who sign up are featured in news articles, included in the TAP online business directory, and are featured in a Groupon-like service called AmeriCoupon that helps people find deals on products made in America.

Since launching in January of 2011, TAP has created national awareness campaigns aimed at buying American-made goods, promoting tolerance, and encouraging people to stay physically active. For more information about TAP America, to volunteer or to make a donation, please visit www.tapamerica.org.

BLACK FRIDAY MARKS START OF “BUY AMERICAN MONTH”

TAP America Urges Citizens to Purchase Domestically Made Goods, Experiential Gifts & Boycott China This Holiday Season

SEATTLE, WASH. – November 22, 2011 – TAP America, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening America and its citizens, today declared December 2011 as “Buy American Month,” just in time for the holiday shopping season. TAP America believes that the United States economy is suffering at the hands of the Chinese government due to their aggressive policies. To avoid the long lines on Black Friday, TAP America is asking for American citizens to buy American, give service-oriented gifts, and boycott products made in China, thereby sending a message to corporations and manufacturers that people value American workers, jobs and innovation.

Researching China’s Influence Over America

According to TAP America Founder Mark Bloome, “Next year China needs to create over 25 Million new jobs to meet population growth and the Communist Government of China (CCP) will use any means to take jobs from Americans and bring them to China, and the failure of the USA economy to recover is proof of the effectiveness of the CCP’s policies that include subsidies, theft of intellectual ideas and currency manipulation. We encourage all citizens to take ‘Buy American Month’ to heart and do their best to help boycott China this holiday season.”

As part of “Buy American Month” TAP America has issued an in-depth research whitepaper that examines the expanding role of China in the global marketplace in terms of population, economic growth, human rights and military strength. This research paper highlights the threats and interdependent relationships of the Chinese government in hopes of eliciting change at the citizen-level to re-ignite the torch of liberty for America and the world. TAP reminds citizens to remember that it is not the Chinese people who pose a threat to America, but the Chinese Government ruled by the Chinese Communist Party.

Buy American for Holiday Shopping

“Asking Americans to buy American is not an easy task,” said Richard Tso, Executive Director of TAP America. “Today most all electronic, clothing and textile goods are manufactured in China and popular American companies like Apple, REI, Walmart, and GAP are sending manufacturing jobs overseas in order to achieve short-term revenue gains. This holiday, in lieu of giving products as gifts, TAP America urges people to instead give experiential and service-oriented gifts like: gym memberships, concert tickets, some rounds at the golf course, or local restaurant gift certificates. If you need to purchase a product as a gift, then try to buy American to help our economy.”

TAP America recently announced their TAP Certified Merchant program to encourage stores to stock at least 20% of U.S. goods and to increase their American made inventories by just 1% per month. As incentive, businesses who sign up are featured in news articles, included in the TAP online business directory, and are featured in a Groupon-like service called AmeriCoupon that helps people find deals on products made in America.

Since launching in January of 2011, TAP has created national awareness campaigns aimed at promoting tolerance, encouraging people to stay physically active, and to purchase products made in America. TAP AMERICA PROVIDES NEXT STEPS FOR OCCUPY MOVEMENT

87 Percent of Americans Blame Washington Over Wall Street for Poor U.S. Economy

SEATTLE, WASH. – October 19, 2011 – TAP America, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening America and its citizens, today announced suggested next steps for all Americans and supporters of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Since the beginning of the worldwide Occupy protests last month, citizens in major cities have taken to the streets in order to communicate their frustration with the U.S. economy by sending a clear message to Wall Street. Since the protests began last month, over 1000 Occupy events have taken place in 82 countries around the world, with over 100 events occurring across the United States.

Majority of Americans Blame Government Over Wall Street

In a new USA Today/Gallup survey, 78 percent of those surveyed said Wall Street deserves “a great deal” or a “fair amount” of blame for the poor economy, but even more – 87% – said the same about Washington. On who is more to blame for the weak state of the economy, 64 percent of people chose the federal government, while just 30 percent said it was fair while 44 percent said it was not.

“TAP America does not believe that the Federal Government nor Wall Street is solely responsible for the present problem,” said TAP America Founder Mark Bloome. “The deficit came due to members of both parties supporting spending over a balanced budget. Elected officials are more concerned about their next election than keeping the country strong. In essence, we have bought our prosperity through decades of deficit spending, now we are paying the price.“

Next Steps for the Occupy Movement

TAP America asks that citizens take the following steps in order to send a message to Wall Street and to our decision-makers to make to bring jobs and hope back to America:

1. Pledge to Buy American – If each citizen spent an additional dollar per day on American-made goods, this alone would create an additional million jobs in America. By taking individual action we can enact social change that will send a message that we want quality goods made by our own-two hands rather than those made in China.

2. Support Local American Merchants – By agreeing to support local businesses, we are keeping money in our local communities and keeping jobs local. TAP America believes in keeping our communities stable and healthy by supporting local farmers and merchants who are in our own backyard.

3. Understand Why People are Fed-Up – The bailouts of the large businesses and big banks are due to these institutions’ reckless practices of taking very high risks. According to Bloomberg News, over twelve trillion dollars were used either to prop up or lend to banks and other businesses such as AIG. Perhaps the Occupy Wall Street should consider having government break up these large institutions so that should they fail, the losses will be borne by the stockholders, not the tax payers.

4.   Consider China’s Role in Our Economic Decline – The Chinese Communist Government has enacted several tactics and policies to attempt to gut out the American economy. By devaluing their currency, they are enticing businesses in the U.S. and other countries to send manufacturing jobs to China. As a result, America no longer has the same manufacturing base as a decade ago. Send a message to both businesses choosing to send American jobs overseas and the Chinese government by buying American made goods whenever possible.

Citizens Unite To Enact Change

“We believe that our nation is at a crossroads,” said Richard Tso, executive director of TAP America. “With the Occupy Wall Street protests, people are beginning to unite to take a stand for what they believe in and this is to be commended, although the Occupy Movement needs a clear plan for next steps. Indeed, action needs to start at the citizen-level in order to get our country moving again and this can be achieved by people taking individual responsibility to buy American and practice tolerance.”

TAP AMERICA ACHIEVES PHENOMENAL GROWTH IN Q3 2011

Non-Profit Organization Has Garnered National Media Attention and Demonstrates Continued Momentum throughout 2011

SEATTLE, WASH. – September 6, 2011 – TAP America, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening America and its citizens, today announced that it has experienced unprecedented growth since the organization opened its doors in January of 2011. Since this time, TAP has launched several national awareness campaigns aimed at promoting tolerance, encouraging people to stay physically active, and to purchase products made in America.

The Movement Is Catching On

Since the launch of the national Made in America Campaign, TAP America has received hundreds of video submissions from people around the country sharing their personal stories about what it is like growing up in, immigrating to, and living in America. In Q2 of 2011, website traffic to TAP America has increased exponentially, by 125% over the previous quarter in both visits and page views. TAP experienced similar growth between Q2 and Q3 as well. Social media popularity has increased as well on both Twitter and Facebook with engagement increasing three-fold.

In June, TAP was approached by CBS to feature a video on the David Letterman jumbotron in Times Square. The TAP team mobilized and solicited video submissions from around the country to help contribute to the video. According to executive director Richard Tso, “This opportunity gave us the national exposure we needed in order to establish ourselves as the first organization that promotes the notion that ‘True Patriots Are Tolerant.’ We at TAP America want to reduce the divisive forces in our country by redefining patriotism towards a more inclusive ideal.”

TAP America Receives National Attention

Over the last three months, TAP America was featured in TIME Magazine, Associated Press, Los Angeles Times, The Advocate, Seattle Times, NPR, FOX Business Radio, KUOW, JT News, American Fitness Magazine, SGN, SDGN and The Edge Network. In addition, TAP America’s leadership team has been featured on local television stations ABC KOMO4 News and NBC KING5 News discussing issues related to tolerance and anti-bullying education.

This July, TAP America appeared in the July issue of American Fitness Magazine for their work promoting a healthy lifestyle through family fitness. According to TAP COO Stephanie Adams, “Families that play together, stay together.  Make moving with your family fun, even just for a few minutes at a time, and you will enjoy a happier family and a happier life.” The organization provides multimedia content including exercise videos, fitness articles and tips for how to keep fit at all stages of life on their website.

Made In America TAP Merchant Program

“With a deteriorating economy and the recent down-grading of the U.S. credit rating, TAP America believes that an integral part of revitalizing out country is to encourage people to start purchasing goods made in America,” said Mark Bloome, Founder of TAP America. “We encourage citizens to begin to demand these products and small-business owners to begin to stock made in the U.S.A. inventory to meet increasing demand and to create a new revenue stream.” TAP recently announced their TAP Certified Merchant program to encourage store owners to stock at least 20% of U.S. goods. As incentive, businesses who sign up will be featured in media outreach, be included in the TAP online business directory, and also have the option of being featured in a Groupon-like service called AmeriCoupon that helps people find deals on products made in America.

SEATTLE ATHLETES TO RUN 50 MILES ULTRAMARATHON TO RAISE FUNDS FOR TAP AMERICA

Non-Profit Organization Encourages Americans to Be Physically Active, Practice Tolerance and Buy Products Made in the USA

SEATTLE, WASH. – August 16, 2011 – TAP America, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening America and its citizens, today announced that Seattle residents Mike Hardin and Noal Cattone have registered to run the grueling 50 miles (82K)  30th Le Grizz Fifty Mile Ultramarathon to promote physical fitness and to help raise funds and awareness for the organization.

This race takes place on October 8th, 2011 and the course traverses rough mountainous terrain through the forest and the backcountry of Hungry Horse, Montana. Donations to help sponsor Mike and Noal can be made via the TAP America Website to help these athletes on their quest to overcome this challenge and join the ranks of the physically elite who have completed this grueling ultramarathon.

“One of our goals as an organization is to encourage citizens to push themselves out of their comfort zones in order to reach their goals, to strengthen their body, mind and their country,” says Richard L. Tso, executive director of TAP America. “We believe that the physical strength and mental discipline that Mike and Noal will need to assert during this race is symbolic of the strength we as a nation need right now to remain competitive domestically and in the global arena.”

“This race requires a lot of preparation, both mentally and physically,” states Mike Hardin, owner of mikefitness in Seattle, WA. “As a physical trainer I work with my clients to help them achieve their fitness goals including weight loss, strength training, cardiovascular conditioning and rehabilitation. This race is a way for me to continue to challenge myself all while supporting a great cause like TAP America.”

According to race partner Noal Cattone, owner of ANCPT Physical Therapy in Seattle, “Le Grizz is a great way to test my abilities on a yearly basis. As co-owner of a physical therapy practice, personal trainer, former rock-climbing instructor and backcountry trip-leader, I am up to the challenge.”

TAP America was recently featured in the July issue of American Fitness Magazine for their work promoting a healthy lifestyle through family fitness. They believe that a family that plays together, stays together and provides multimedia content including exercise videos, fitness articles and tips for how to keep fit at all stages of life on their website.

“Our nation is experiencing a time of great economic stress at the hand of competing nations like China,” says Mark Bloome, founder of TAP America. We believe that supporting Mike and Noal sends a message that Americans will continue to fight and have the strength to maintain our position of moral leadership to keep the light of liberty lit for the world. We believe that we, as Americans, need to take inspiration from Mike and Noal and demonstrate that we have the grit and endurance to buy American, practice tolerance, and keep physically fit.”

TAP AMERICA ANNOUNCES THE TAP AMERICA CERTIFIED MERCHANT PROGRAM

Non-Profit Organization Encourages Businesses to Stock Products Made In America, and Helps Business Owners Create a New Revenue Stream

SEATTLE, WASH. – July 1, 2011 – TAP America, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening America and its citizens, today announced the launch of the TAP America Certified Merchant Program aimed at promoting businesses that currently carry at least 20 percent of products made in the U.S.A. While many Americans understand the value of purchasing products made locally, there has been a lack of resources for people to locate vendors who stock these products. TAP America addresses this need by effectively connecting buyers and sellers of products Made In America through educational online resources found on its website.

Economic Impact of Buying American

“TAP America created the Merchant Program in order to bridge the gap between supply and demand for products Made In America,” said Richard L. Tso, executive director for TAP America. “By creating an online directory where people can easily search for and locate products Made In America, we hope to promote businesses that have made the effort to stock locally made and grown products.”

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, small businesses represent 99.7 percent of all employer firms and employ just over half of all private sector employees. Small businesses have generated 64 percent of net new jobs over the last 15 years and pay 44 percent of total U.S. private payroll. Supporting small businesses relates to putting more money into the pockets of those who provide local goods and services and strengthening local communities.

Introducing the TAP America Certified Merchant Program

According to TAP COO Stephanie Adams, “As part of this program, we are actively reaching out to businesses that want to participate in the pilot program. Any business that stocks at least 20 percent of products Made In America is eligible to apply for our program by visiting http://tapamerica.org and completing our online application. Approved vendors will then receive welcome materials, a TAP Certified Merchant window decal for their business, and will be listed on our searchable online business directory. Together, we are helping small business owners create a new revenue stream, while also supporting the national economy.”

Buy American: A Dollar A Day Saves the U.S.A.

“Recent reports verified by Merrill Lynch indicate that if each American spent an extra $6.41 on U.S. made goods each week, this alone would create almost 1 million new jobs. This equates to less than one dollar per day to save the U.S.A.,” said Mark Bloome, founder of TAP America. “TAP believes that consumers and merchants need to take individual responsibility to start stimulating our economy and bringing jobs back to our shores.”

According to a representative from Merrill Lynch, “Okun’s Law attempts to identify the relationship between unemployment and consumption in the economy, using Gross Domestic Product as a measurement of consumption. Okun’s law states that every 1 percent increase in the rate of unemployment is associated with 2 percentage points of negative growth in real GDP. Ben Bernanke and Andrew Abel performed a similar analysis in 2005 with similar conclusions. When we use this law in the analysis (in the reverse), we are estimating additional domestic consumption of $112B, which corresponds to an increase in GDP of 80 basis points (bps). If we use Okun’s Law, then we would estimate about a 40 bps increase in employment. Since the current labor force is about 239 million, that would be a creation of roughly 956,000 jobs.”

TAP America provides resources on its website providing consumers with information about how to locate companies that manufacture in the United States. There is also multimedia content and facts about how buying American will improve our nation by curbing joblessness and supporting small and locally owned businesses.

TAP AMERICA LAUNCHES MADE IN AMERICA CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE THE VALUE OF BUYING AMERICAN

Spending $1 A Day On American-Made Products Will Create 1 Million Jobs in America

SEATTLE, WASH. – May 3, 2011 – TAP America, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening America and its citizens, today announced a national campaign to educate consumers about the value of buying American. According to TAP Chairman Mark Bloome, “When it comes to getting the economy back on track, only individual action will get our country moving to keep our place as the beacon of freedom. By buying American made products, the jobs and country we save will be our own. ” During today’s volatile economic climate, TAP America believes that education and action on the citizen-level is the first step to improving the national economy and reducing joblessness in America.

Economic Impact of Buying American

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the nation’s international trade deficit in goods and services increased to $46.4  Billion in January 2011 as imports increased more than exports. Recent reports indicate that if each American spent an extra $6.41 on U.S. made goods each week, that this alone would create almost 1 Million new jobs.  This equates to less than one dollar per day to save the U.S.A.

“The goal of the Made In America campaign is to encourage people to understand that they have the power to revitalize our country,” said Mark Bloome, Founder of TAP America. “Each American must take individual responsibility to purchase American goods to make our nation strong again, rather than simply relying on government to solve our economic problems for us. Together, we will work towards educating people to start looking at where products are made and that purchasing products made overseas relates to less jobs on American soil. People can demonstrate their patriotism through making informed purchasing decisions and not handing money over to other governments who may invest in building military strength against the United States.”

Small Businesses Fuel America

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, small businesses represent 99.7 percent of all employer firms and employ just over half of all private sector employees. Small business have generated 64 percent of net new jobs over the last 15 years and pay 44 percent of total U.S. private payroll.  Supporting small businesses relates to putting more money into the pockets of those who provide local goods and services and strengthening local communities.

“Entrepreneurship is at the core of what America is all about,” said Stephanie Adams of TAP America. “True innovation comes from these risk-takers and small business owners who are not afraid to venture out on their own to build a better life for themselves and their families. These are the individuals we aim to support through the Made In America Campaign. Start locally by going down to your neighborhood stores and farmers markets to purchase products made in your area.”

Safety Concerns About Products Made Overseas

Overseas regulations on manufacturing and quality control are less stringent and this may contribute to the creation of inferior and potentially dangerous products. In recent years, several goods manufactured overseas have been determined unsafe for human and animal consumption, causing sickness and in some cases, even death.  Pet food contamination caused by melamine, toothpaste containing the dangerous chemical diethylene glycol, lead paint in Thomas the Train children’s toys, drywall that gives off poisonous fumes, and unsafe tires made in China are all examples of recent safety violations from products manufactured overseas.

“Our goal is to educate people about these incidents in order to inform them about how price should not be the only factor to consider when shopping online and at the supermarket,” said Executive Director of TAP America Richard L. Tso. “Spending just a little bit more for American-Made goods not only keeps jobs in America, but it ensures that the products your family consumes have been properly evaluated by the FDA and are less likely to have dangerous side-effects.”

TAP America provides resources on its website: www.TAPamerica.org giving consumers valuable information about how to locate companies that manufacture in the United States. There is also multimedia content and facts about how buying American will improve our nation by curbing joblessness and supporting small and locally owned businesses.

TAP AMERICA LAUNCHES NATIONAL TOLERANCE PROGRAM TO UNIFY THE U.S. POPULATION

Patriotism Must Be Achieved Through Education & Understanding Differences

SEATTLE, WASH. – March 22, 2011 – TAP America, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening America and its citizens, today announced a campaign to promote tolerance in America through education.  TAPamerica.org now contains resources to give people the tools necessary to learn about different cultures, races and ways of life through meeting new people, reading books and watching evocative movies. As part of their pledge, TAP America encourages people to practice an act of tolerance each week and this comes at a time when this is much needed within America.

According to the 2009 annual Department of Justice report on Hate Crime, 48.4% of hate crimes were motivated by racial bias, followed by religious bias (19.7%) and sexual orientation bias (18.5%). Approximately 71.3% of racial bias was anti-black, while 17% were anti-white and about 71.4% of religious bias was anti-Jewish. Also, 55.7% of all sexual orientation bias were directed against homosexual males.

“These figures are indeed startling but we also must remember that these numbers are under-representative of hate crimes in America because only one-third of victims report hate crimes to the authorities,” said Richard L. Tso, Executive Director of TAP America. “While it takes courage to stand-up and admit you were a victim, our main mission with this tolerance campaign is to prevent these violent acts from occurring in the first place by educating people about our differences and highlighting what unites us as a collective.”

The United Nations defines tolerance as the following:

Tolerance is respect, acceptance and appreciation of the rich diversity of our world’s cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human. It is fostered by knowledge, openness, communication, and freedom of thought, conscience and belief. Tolerance is harmony in difference. It is not only a moral duty, it is also a political and legal requirement. Tolerance, the virtue that makes peace possible, contributes to the replacement of the culture of war by a culture of peace.

“With this, tolerance is about respecting someone based on character rather than race, gender, sexual identity, religion, politics, and economics. It is about understanding the humanity and differences of our people,” said Stephanie Adams, COO of TAP America. “This is what makes America strong.”

As part of this tolerance campaign, TAP America has begun to solicit feedback and support from national organizations like The Trevor Project and Campus Tolerance. The TAP America website features famous quotes about tolerance from celebrities like Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Michael Franti, Dave Matthews, Alex Rodriguez and others. If you would like to participate in this campaign, please send your quotes, videos and ideas to info@tapamerica.org.

“As a nation, we have become divided and this distracts us from other issues both foreign and domestic,” said Mark Bloome, Founder of TAP America. “As the famous saying goes, ‘Every Kingdom against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.’ We, as a country have been in a fit of intolerance and this weakens us. At the citizen-level, all too often, we as Americans associate the word tolerance with having to endure something or someone but in actuality, it means to accept and appreciate people as individuals, communities and states. We encourage people to practice tolerance each day to understand that we are all more similar than we are different.”

TAP AMERICA INTRODUCES FITNESS CAMPAIGN TO STRENGTHEN AMERICA & ITS CITIZENS
Get Lean In Front of Your Screen. Exercises for the Entire Family

SEATTLE, WASH. – February 28, 2011 – TAP America, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening America and its citizens, today announced the launch of its Get Lean In Front of Your Screen campaign to promote fitness and physical activity for all ages. Americans are increasingly spending more time in front of their computers and mobile devices and this exercise series allows people to harness the convenience and portability of these devices by exercising on the go, at home or while at their cubicles at work.

Fitness Starts With Five Minutes Each Day
Fitness is a habit that needs to be cultivated. Exercising at least five minutes a day creates the structure needed to form committed and lasting exercise behaviors. According to The Nielsen Company, online video consumption is up 16% from last year. Of note, approximately 44% of all online video is being viewed in the workplace. Active mobile video users grew by 57% in just two years. This presents a great opportunity for introducing web-based exercise content geared towards those who must dedicate a portion of their day to online activity.

“Increasing screen time means that Americans are spending more time in front of their computers and mobile devices and less time engaging in physical activity,” said Richard L. Tso, Executive Director at TAP America. “Immersive media is not going away anytime soon and many jobs today require sitting in front of a computer as part of the daily routine. Our Get Lean in Front of Your Screen campaign allows TAP America to effectively reach this large population by creating simple 5 minute exercises that can be done at home, at a desk or on the go.”

Families Who Play Together, Stay Together
TAP America believes in promoting family unity. Today families have become increasingly disconnected due to economic stress, heavy workloads and the myriad of extra-curricular activities offered by schools. Research shows that families who spend at least 1-2 hours each day together have more trusting relationships, communicate better and have children less likely to turn to crime and drug use. In addition, people who exercise with others during fitness programs tend to have more dramatic and longer lasting results. TAP America encourages families to exercise and play together by providing a series of videos that encourage family interaction toward the common goal of getting healthy.

“Currently, two-thirds of people in this country are overweight or obese, which is roughly 30 or pounds over a healthy weight,” said Stephanie Adams, COO of TAP America. Childhood obesity is at an all-time high with the CDC reporting that 23% of individuals ages 18-34 are considered obese. It is our responsibility as parents to help get our kids off the couch and encourage them to make healthy choices. As part of our fitness campaign, we have created several play and exercise videos for families to do together to get fit.”

Building A Stronger Future
TAP America stands for Tolerance, Americanism, and Patriotism and its introduction comes at a time when many Americans are faced with political and economic uncertainty. As a non-political organization, TAP America embodies what it means to be American by encouraging people to be physically active, embrace equality, and support the American economy by purchasing products made in America.

“We at TAP America are dedicated to educating our citizens on how to unite and to remain the beacon of strength and light for the world,” said Mark Bloome, Founder of TAP America. “We believe that fitness starts at home and we want to provide the tools to get our country back in shape. In honor of our troops past and present, we ask that you dedicate at least 5 minutes a day towards physical fitness to help us build a stronger future. The more fit we are, the stronger our country will be and better able to defend itself. Growing at a rate of 120% per week, TAPamerica.org is the fastest growing patriotic tolerance organization in America. Please visit our website for ways to get started.”

TAP AMERICA OPENS ITS DOORS TO PROMOTE TOLERANCE, AMERICANISM & PATRIOTISM
Non-Profit Aims to Unify America Through Education, Leadership & Social Research

SEATTLE, WASH. – January 18, 2011 – TAP America, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening America and its citizens, today announced the official launch of the organization. TAP America is an acronym for Tolerance, Americanism, and Patriotism and its inception comes at a time when many Americans are faced with political and economic uncertainty. As a non-political organization, TAP America embodies what it means to be American by encouraging people to be physically active, embrace equality, and support the American economy by purchasing products made in America.

Getting Americans Back to Work
According to a recent survey released by Deloitte and the Manufacturing Institute, Americans view manufacturing as the most important industry for a strong national economy. In addition 81% of Americans believe manufacturing industries have a significant impact on their standard of living and 68% of Americans are convinced that manufacturing industries impact national security.

“TAP America believes that the only way to help stimulate our economy is to buy goods and services made in America to keep the jobs we have and to create new ones for the over 14.8 Million unemployed in our country,” said Mark Bloome, Founder of TAP America. “We need to stop the rapid decline of the American economy by reclaiming jobs sent overseas to countries like China and India. The jobs and country we save will be our own.”

Let’s Get Moving
Physical fitness is critical to keeping Americans healthy and our country strong. According to the latest Pentagon research, 35 percent of the 31.2 million Americans aged 17 to 24 are unqualified for military service because of physical and medical issues. Childhood obesity is at an all-time high with the CDC reporting that 23% of individuals within this age group are considered obese. In response to these statistics, TAP America encourages Americans to take the first step by turning off the television or computer and dedicating at least five minutes a day to exercise and physical activity. Founder Mark Bloome asks that we honor the sacrifice of our troops past and present through dedicating just five minutes a day to make our citizens stronger.

“All it takes to be healthy is breaking out of our daily routines and getting off the couch to take a five minute stroll around the block,” said Stephanie Adams, COO of TAP America. “We have videos on our website for simple exercises that you can do right in your own living room or at your cubicle. Physical activity of any sort will help create stronger Americans and keep us healthy. Get up and let’s get moving for America.”

We Are All Americans
America was founded on the ideals of tolerance, patriotism and embracing all individuals. As a country, the United States is comprised of people from countries around the world with 37.7 percent immigrating from Central America, 25.4 percent from Asia and 13.6 percent from Europe. In order to build a united and strong country, TAP America asks all Americans to practice at least one act of tolerance per week in order to learn more about each other.

“TAP America has been tasked with reigniting America as the beacon of hope for the rest the world,” said Richard L. Tso, Executive Director at TAP America. “We at TAP believe it is the differences between Americans that make our country so unique and powerful. Once we look past these differences we realize that we are more similar than we are different – we are all Americans.”
